Fall in love with this Shiplapped Farmhouse

If you have fallen in love with shiplap, like the rest of America, then this home is for you. Denise O'Donnell, her hubby and 8 children (7 boys and 1 girl) share this Fixer-Upper inspired farmhouse.  Regardless of their being novice "shiplappers" they dove right in and began installing 1/4" birch plywood, cut in 6" widths, throughout the entire home.  Since they were installing shiplap over the existing drywall they couldn't use traditional shiplap.  However, the end result looks very much like the real thing.
After installation, they applied a couple coats of crisp, white paint and they were done.  In addition to providing that much-sought-after farmhouse appeal, the shiplap is also an ideal material for a large, busy family.  Not only is it durable but it can accommodate a multitude of bumps and bruises along the way that will only add to its rustic charm.

White kitchen cabinetry is accented by black hardware and contrasting honed black granite countertops.  The farmhouse sink adds to the classic design of the home.

A round trestle table continues the white theme of the home, as well as providing a more intimate place to enjoy a meal.

To offset the hard lines of the shiplap, the living room has been furnished with a slipcovered couch, woven rug and a curved wood coffee table.

The dining room features a spacious wood table with enough seating to accommodate this family of 10.
