Washington D.C. Farmhouse gets rebuilt

This Farmhouse cottage was originally built in the 1920s as a weekend retreat not far from Washington D.C. Decades later, the owners wanted to increase the size of the estate without sacrificing the home's vintage aesthetic. After a lot of work, the designers succeeded in transforming the home into a work of art.
Simplicity is the name of the game for this residence -- a simple all-white color scheme gives the building a classic look while a red brick chimney provides a sharp visual contrast.

The home was originally only one story, later additions transformed the house into a two-story beauty.
Doors originally separated these rooms, but with the wide doors removed the space opens up and becomes extremely welcoming.
The pastel-yellow kitchen features marble countertops and jade tiles -- a perfect contrast of bold and subdued colors.
The bathroom features no gimmicks -- just a clean, timeless design. Black mirror frames and colorful flowers give the room a splash of color.
To complete the classic Farmhouse look, the rear of the house features a sleeping porch.
It's always rewarding to see an old-fashioned house get restored to house a new generation of residents. Fortunately, this estate kept it's classic Farmhouse looks!
